Virtual Snow Apps

posted by Christy Matte on January 04, 2013

Winter means snow to many of us, but we don’t all live in climates where that’s really the case. If you’re missing the beauty of snow, but not the cold, these apps can help make your winter dreams true. Whether you (and your kids) are designing snowflakes or if you prefer a light virtual snowfall, you’ll certainly want a cup of hot chocolate to enjoy these apps. Leave the mittens in the closet.

Snowflake StationSnowflake Station
Snowflake Station first invites kids to practice building snowflakes by tracing some of their elaborate designs. Next you can make your own by choosing the number of folds, the color of the paper, and even adding glitter. You can make any kind of cuts you want, including some where the paper doesn’t fall away. The results are very pretty, but they aren’t true paper snowflake designs. When you’re done you can make it “snow” with your flakes.
