A good thing just got even better: Popular mobile messaging app Whatsapp announced today that you can now send and receive voice messages using the service.
The new voice-messaging feature has no time limit, so you can send as short or as long a voice message as you want. Whatsapp is smart about how it plays received voice messages too – the app’s volume level changes depending on how you’re holding your phone.
Over 300 million people worldwide use Whatsapp as an alternative to SMS-based text messages. The secret behind its success really isn’t much of a secret: The 99-cent-per-year app lets you jettison expensive texting plans by using your phone’s data plan to send messages.
