T-Mobile Offers Unlimited, Free Video Streaming

by Elmer Montejo on November 11, 2015

T-Mobile Binge On promoWith T-Mobile’s newly launched Binge On program, you can literally go on a video streaming binge without worrying about consuming a single byte of your LTE data allocation.

Existing T-Mobile subscribers can start to Binge On beginning Nov. 19 and enjoy unlimited flicks from popular video service providers, including Crackle, Encore, ESPN, Fox Sports, Fox Sports Go, HBO Now, HBO Go, Hulu, MLB, MoviePlex, NBC Sports, Netflix, Sling TV, Slingbox, Showtime, Starz, T-Mobile TV, Univision Deportes, Ustream, Vessel, Vevo, Vudu and more. T-Mobile has even included Verizon’s Go90 and AT&T’s DirecTV — both direct competitors of T-Mobile — in the Binge On promo.

Binge On is available to customers with a 3GB data plan or higher. You can enable or disable Binge On at any time for each line in your account.

New technology built into the T-Mobile network enables the company to optimize video for mobile screens, so video consumes less bandwidth while keeping the video quality high—at a minimum of 480p (DVD quality) or better. The lower bandwidth requirement means that even if your plan doesn't come with Binge On, you can watch more movies while consuming less data.

Apart from free video streaming, T-Mobile is doubling the data allocation for the Simple Choice plan at all levels at no extra charge and slashing the price for additional data. The first line for a Simple Choice plan remains $50 monthly, the second line remain $30 monthly and the third through the twelfth lines run $10 monthly — but each line now comes with 2GB of of 4G LTE data.

Both the new Simple Choice plan and Binge On will be available to new subscribers starting Nov. 15.

For a limited period, T-Mobile is also offering a four-line, 24-gigabyte family package for $120, including 6GB per line with no sharing at $30 per line — equivalent to getting the fourth line for free.

Families and businesses will get twice the high-speed data allocation for free when everyone on the plan gets additional 4G LTE data through the Family Match program. Add 4GB of LTE data to each line (on top of the included 2GB) for $10 monthly per line for a total of 10GB per line.

How can you get in on all this if you have spotty LTE signal in your area? T-Mobile’s 4G LTE CellSpot can help you take advantage of services like the new unlimited video streams. For more related stories, visit our coverage of music and video services.
