Opté's Beauty Wand Makes Skin Flawless with Zero Effort

by Anna Bell on January 11, 2019

CES may have the answer to our biggest skin care problems with the Opté, a premium beauty device that treats your skin imperfections while covering them flawlessly. The magic is all contained within the Opté Precision Wand, which does all of the hard work so you just have run it over your face for foolproof application.

Watching the Opté apply makeup looks like magic. The process starts with its camera. A blue LED light heightens the contrast between skin and imperfection, and the camera takes 200 images per second so it sees even tiny spots that make skin look uneven. Next, Opté analyzes the photos to pinpoint imperfections, then, it custom-creates a serum designed to hide those imperfections. Finally, a printer with 120 inkjet nozzles, each thinner than a hair, covers the spot precisely with 1,000 picoliter droplets. It all happens nearly instantaneously as you wave the wand over your skin.

The serum isn't just a concealer. In addition to mineral pigments to correct discoloration, it also has spot-lightening ingredients which will reduce the look of your age spots over time. Since the serum is only applied to your problem spots, it only lightens the skin that needs it.

Because the serum is dispensed so precisely, it uses far less product than traditional foundation or concealer. Most women only need to cover 10 percent of their skin. And since so little skin is covered, it can breathe and doesn't feel caked with product.

Opté is also easier to use than traditional products, which take time and artistry to apply. With the Opté you just scan the Precision Wand across your skin and walk out the door. You also won't need to spend time trying to find your perfect foundation shade or mess around with green or purple concealers, since the Opté figures all that out for you.

If you're ready to up your skincare game, the Opté will be available for $599 by the end of 2019.
