Amazon Now Selling Amazon Prime Gift Memberships

by Fox Van Allen on November 22, 2013

Amazon Prime Gift MembershipLooking for a great gift idea for a family member or friend who loves shopping on Amazon? Today, the company announced that premium Amazon Prime memberships can now be purchased for others as a gift.

“Members have told us they want to give the gift of Prime and we are delighted to offer this new capability in time for the holidays,” said Amazon Prime Vice President Greg Greeley.

The Amazon Prime service offers members free upgraded two-day shipping (now on Sundays), exclusive video content like the new series Alpha House, access to the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library and a handful of other neat benefits. The gift membership can be delivered via email on whatever date you choose, allowing the recipient to start enjoying the service right away. If the person already has Amazon Prime, don’t fret – the gift can be redeemed as an Amazon gift card, instead.

A one-year membership to Amazon Prime costs $79. To purchase a gift membership to Amazon Prime or to learn more about the service, visit amazon.com/giftprime.
